Engineers and programmers are the often-anonymous architects of society, and what you do now could make a huge difference to the lives of millions, even billions, of people in decades to come.

"look ahead. don't look back. keep running. don't stop."
"where do i go?"
"i don't know. just go."
....
"and one more thing."
"what is it?"
"know what worked and what didn't. don't think about what happened, don't remember, don't look back."
it sucks when you look out in front of you and there's nothing - nothing great or exciting. no bends in the road, no hills - no surprises. nothing to look forward too. just a desert.
you look back (when you know you shouldn't) and you see a lot of great things - things that made you laugh and smile, things that made you practically invincible and invulnerable. you look back and you see paradise. you look ahead and you see nothing, nothing but sand.
oh well, sand is great. it's made of silicon and oxygen. we can make semiconductors out of silicon. maybe that's my future, changing a ton of sand into pure silicon for cmos transistors.
geez that's a depressing scene ahead.
minor protrusions in the sand ahead:
an EECE degree
a starter motorcycle
nothing else for thousands of miles ahead. JN is gone. *sigh*.
one day closer to... umm, nothing. just more sand.
